PCBA Testing

Automatic Inspection: A Key Step for Reliable SMT Assembly
PCBA and SMT manufacturing consists of multiple sophisticated procedures, including PCB fabrication, component procurement & incoming inspection, SMT/THT assembly, DIP processing and final PCBA testing. Among all stages, PCBA testing acts as the core quality control checkpoint that directly determines the overall performance and reliability of finished electronic products.

PCBA Testing & Inspection Services for Reliable Electronics Manufacturing

  • Custom Functional Testing (FCT) to validate overall PCBA performance.
  • Strict quality control supported by First Article Inspection (FAI) and 3D AOI scanning.
  • Reflow soldering capability for both lead-free and leaded assembly requirements.
  • SMT component mounting service for single-sided and double-sided PCBs.
  • Comprehensive BOM review before production with free DFM/DFX analysis for PCBA projects.

AOI

Automatic Optical Inspection
Automatic Optical Inspection (AOI), also known as automated visual inspection, uses dedicated optical inspection equipment and can be deployed before and after reflow soldering. It delivers outstanding performance on component polarity verification and is widely adopted in SMT production lines.
Our production line is equipped with 3D AOI systems installed after SMT reflow. Unlike 2D AOI that only scans the top surface, 3D AOI captures full dimensional data. It effectively verifies component polarity, placement offset and soldering joint quality to reduce assembly defects during electronic assembly.

ICT Testing

ICT Performs Comprehensive Circuit Testing
In-Circuit Testing (ICT) is widely applied in mature and stable mass-production projects. Using a bed-of-nails test fixture contacting test points on the bottom layer of PCBs, ICT sends high-speed electrical signals to measure individual components and circuit networks. With sufficient test points available, ICT can rapidly detect open circuits, short circuits and faulty components on assembled boards.

Functional Testing (FCT)

A Final Manufacturing Validation Step
We execute customized Functional Circuit Testing (FCT) for finished PCB assemblies. FCT rapidly validates overall circuit performance and fits large-batch quality screening. Our team develops test programs via LabVIEW. The dedicated test fixture connects to predefined PCB test points to collect voltage signals and record pass/fail results. The system displays “OK” for qualified PCBs and “NG” for defective units, with full test data traceable for quality archives.

Burn-in / Aging Test

Burn-in (Aging) testing simulates long-term working environments to evaluate product stability under continuous operation. We perform power cycling and I/O signal testing on PCBs and finished electronics to confirm performance meets long-term application requirements before shipment, especially for box build finished products.

Engineer carries out First Article Inspection FAI

First Article Inspection (FAI)

First Article Inspection (FAI) is implemented before formal batch production. Our engineers fully compare the first finished sample against your PCB files, BOM and assembly specifications. We verify component models, placement positions, polarity, soldering quality and mechanical dimensions. FAI eliminates systematic manufacturing errors and ensures consistent quality for subsequent mass production batches.
